About IsAIThreat
IsAIThreat is an independent project that tracks the risks of artificial intelligence as they show up in the real world: deepfakes, AI-powered scams and cyberattacks, jailbreaks, privacy harms, misinformation, safety failures, and the laws and lawsuits responding to them.
Every few hours we gather reporting from security publications, technology newsrooms and news searches covering outlets worldwide. Each story is sorted into one or more threat categories:
- Deepfakes & Synthetic Media: Deepfake video, voice cloning, face swaps and non-consensual synthetic imagery.
- AI Scams & Fraud: Scams, phishing, impersonation and financial fraud powered by AI.
- AI-Powered Cyberattacks: Malware, ransomware, exploits and hacking campaigns using or targeting AI.
- Jailbreaks & Model Security: Prompt injection, jailbreaks, data poisoning, model theft and attacks on AI systems.
- Privacy & Surveillance: Data leaks, surveillance, facial recognition and misuse of personal data by AI.
- Misinformation & Influence Ops: AI-driven disinformation, propaganda and election interference.
- AI Safety & Alignment: Frontier model risks, alignment failures, dangerous capabilities and safety research.
- Regulation & Lawsuits: AI laws, regulation, enforcement actions, bans and lawsuits worldwide.
- Military & Autonomous Weapons: Autonomous weapons, military AI and AI in conflict and national security.
